Epic Games sued a popular GTA V and Fortnite hack Youtube channel, Golden Modz, for copyright infringement.
According to Epic Games, they injected code into the game which modifies the original, which is a clear violation of copyright law. Saying: “This is a copyright infringement, breach of contract, and tortious interference case in which the Defendants are infringing Epic’s copyrights by injecting unauthorized cheat software into the copyright protected code of Epic’s popular video game Fortnite.”.
In an interview with GamesBeat, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney stated “the best type of funding a company can get: microtransactions from happy customers.” which gave their company “unlimited ability to invest in our technology, our games, and all the ecosystem around it.”.
WSJ reported that some parents are hiring Fortnite coaches to make their kids better at Fortnire, giving them $10 to $20 wage per hour. Saying “There’s pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it, you can imagine what that was like for him at school.”
Korean Ratings Board has listed Switch version of Fortnite stating “a third-person shooter action Nintendo switch game that collects resources and builds defensive fortresses to stop monsters. Comic expression of a slight level of attack. (Attack expression using various weapons against human and extraterrestrial life)”. And list of E3 Nintendo games that leaked through 4chan also had the Fortnite on Switch.
